 Browser Extensions

This presentation, by Bill Altman on November 10, highlights the usage of browser extensions.  He discusses, what is an extension, two caveats when installing extensions, and how to find extensions for four major web browsers.  He also discusses some of the "best" extensions out there.  (Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties you will not see the slides in the recording - except in the background.)

EVs - Myths, Realities, Pros and Cons

Two years ago the CCH had a presentation about Electric Vehicles (EVs) that focused primarily in Teslas - but they were the only game in town (at that time) while other manufacturers were planning on delivering EVs.  This presentation by Bill Altman will look at the EVs as they exist today and hopefully bring people up to speed and dispel the myths and rumors.

Making Your 2024 Calendar

A photo calendar is an excellent gift for the holidays and though the holidays are a bit away -- eight months until Thanksgiving -- it can take some time to get it right.  John Krout from the APCUG presented a one-hour discussion on how to do it as well as providing the templates to make it happen.  Unfortunately, the recording of John's April 28 session is not available but we do have a recording of a similar presentation for 2022.

The recording is available here:  Making Your Photo Calendar

The slides are available here:  Making Your Photo Calendar

The templates are available here: Calendar Templates

Chromebooks for Seniors

Chromebooks are alternatives to PCs, Macs, iPads, and tablets that operate on the Chrome OS.  They are less expensive, (almost) virus-proof, lightweight, turn on quickly, and have great battery life.  And if you do emails, surf the internet, watch movies online, or do most things that you do with a PC, chromebooks may be what you are looking for.  Hewie Poplock of the APCUG gave an interesting overview of these devices and the recording of his presentation plus his slides are available here.
